Torkil Gudnason says his silhouetted still lifes of reeds and flowers are "a nice break from fashion photography, an important complimentary road to take." The flowers, which Gudnason's wife, also a photographer, often collects for him, inspire new ways of photographing fashion, and the influence is clearly reciprocal. In the sinuous curves of these stems, in their elegantly craning necks and unfettered arrangements, the spirit of fashion, and the seductive gamines that inspire it, is manifest. |
